UBIQUITY NETWORK HARDWARE

Last year, the Golden Gala's emotional appeal raised enough money to buy a new vehicle that the school needed for transporting students to extracurricular events, sports and school. This year our emotional appeal is focused on BECAHI's technology infrastructure.

BECAHI was in the midst of a digital transformation before the pandemic, but this change has been accelerated greatly.  We implemented the Canvas LMS two years ago, at the start of the pandemic. This system allows BECAHI's teachers to expand the classroom by providing student-centered learning at any time and in any place.  We can now provide excellent educational opportunities for our students in the classroom or remotely. Unfortunately, BECAHI's existing network infrastructure is preventing us from fully reaching our technological potential.  

The funds from this year's Golden Gala emotional appeal will be used to purchase state of the art, UBIQUITY NETWORK HARDWARE. This technology will make our network infrastructure first class, allowing our students and faculty to best utilize the learning technologies we have purchased.

We hope you will give generously to the emotional appeal, so that BECAHI students can have the best technology to aid their learning.

2022 Golden Gala Honorees

Bernard '81 and Melissa Brown

This year's Golden Gala Honorees come from one of the most storied inter-generational families to have ever graced a Catholic School community. Their family story began at Bethlehem Catholic in 1948 at the original Becahi on the corner of 4th and Webster.  Since then, our Golden Gala Honorees' family has sent twenty students to Bethlehem Catholic. Each of whom has left their own particular mark on our school community for the last 50 years.

The 2022 Golden Gala Honorees are none other than the family of Bernard '81 and Melissa Brown. Their family has been exemplary in terms of faith, academics, activity involvement, and athletics, as well as loyal benefactors towards Bethlehem Catholic through the sharing of their time, treasure, and talent over many years.

Bernie and Melissa are a solid team making Becahi better for everyone through their acts of generosity toward Becahi. Bernie and Melissa financially support Bethlehem Catholic through the Becahi PA EITC/OSTC Tax Credit Program, donating to the Becahi Fund, and sponsoring Golf Tournaments for our Athletic Programs. They spend quality time attending sporting and cultural events at school.  They are role models of faith for their family and others and exhibit the positive "can do" spirit in all things. As such, Bernie and Melissa truly live out our school motto, "Fides et Scientia" "Faith and Knowledge."  In doing so, they have both left us an enduring legacy to follow.

How does the silent auction work?
We will be using mobile bidding the night of the virtual event for our auction. You will be able to use your smartphone/tablet to keep up with the status of your bids and continue bidding until the auction closes. You can be the winning bidder wherever you are in the world!

How do I participate in the online bidding auction?
Get started online through this auction page. Please register with the auction site before the online bidding time to expedite your registration.

Start Bidding
Browse the Silent Auction and start bidding on your favorite items! Place your bid on selected items, and set a maximum bid if desired, and Givesmart will continue to keep you in the running until you reach your maximum.

Star Your Favorites
Click the "Star" icon under your favorite items to make it easy to find what you like.

Keep Active
We will notify you via text message if someone beats your bid. Keep an eye on your favorite items! If you are NOT receiving the text messages, check that you have the correct mobile number under your profile. The texts will continue to notify you when you have been outbid or reached your maximum bid. When the silent auction closes, you will also receive a text message if you won any items!

For easier bidding, you can set a maximum bid.
The auction software will automatically raise your bid by the predetermined increment that you choose to reach your maximum bid or the silent auction ends.

Collect Your Winnings
Auction winners are required to make payment the night of the event. We will contact you after the auction to make arrangements to get you your item(s)!
